The Lawrenceville School

FOCUS:
Experiential learning, critical thinking, self-starter
With experiential learning leading the pedagogical ethos at Lawrenceville, pupils are encouraged to apply their learning through a variety of practical endeavors with the ‘Outdoor Classroom’ programme and the school ‘Big Red Farm’. Lawrenceville has adopted the ‘Harkness’ tutorial-esque learning style from a young age, encouraging discussion and debate in small classes. There is a rich tradition of dramatic arts at the school and a similarly strong sporting ethos, with more than 70 teams featuring across 21 interscholastic sports. Most notably, the on-campus ‘Hutchins Institute for Social Justice’, welcomes senior pupils to enroll in bespoke programmes to develop their interest in social justice. Noted alumni include Disney CEO, Michael Eisner and Ali Baba VC, Joseph Tsai.
